Turkish "Miniatures"
Painting as an art form has existed since the 7th century.
Miniatures Painting can be compared as the
"Illustration" of books in today's world.
"Miniatures Paintings" ordained books hand written by
very talented calligraphers...These books told all events that
happened in the palace of the Sultans (Circumption Feasts,
Battles, Glories , Parties ext...)
As the "portraying" was
forbidden by the Muslim Religion; Turkish artists couldn't develop their
styles like their occidental colleagues did after the
"Renaissance". Only, in the beginning
of the 19th century can we distinguish very good artist-painters
performing on the international art scene.
